Does plan b work during ovulation?

My boyfriend and I had 
unprotected sex while ovulating, I took plan b 72 hours after. Will it be effective?

I’d say it has less of a chance of working because you took it just barely in the window of the suggested time frame.
I had sex on my peak ovulation day and the condom broke, took Plan B a few hours later and it worked for me!
It says that it is 96% effective when taken within 24 hours, and the effectiveness goes down the longer you wait to take it.
But I think it’s still like 86% effective if taken within 72 hours.
Plan B doesn’t just stop you from ovulating; it also creates an unwelcome environment for a fertilized egg to implant in the uterus.
I’d say you have a good chance of it working, but there is always a chance of Plan B failing as well.
Wait and see if your period is late and then test just to be sure.

Plan b works in different ways, it’s not just one:
1) it prevents ovulation if you haven’t already ovulated. You can’t fertilise an egg if there’s no egg to fertilise 
2) it thickens cervical mucus around the cervix. This makes it more difficult for the sperm to get through
3) it thins the lining of the womb so that if a fertilised egg did manage to occur, it would be less likely of implanting. This is also why lots of women experience cramping and bleeding, essentially it brings on an early period
