No one will ever understand

I started talking to this guy at my university and he seems perfect. We get along amazingly and we like the same stuff. But I don’t him I wasn’t ready to date anyone and he got upset and didn’t understand. But I had told him that I am seeing a therapist and I’ve been in some rough relationships in the past. I don’t think anyone will ever understand what it’s like to have your boyfriend grab you and cause bruises or to hold you down to the couch with your arm in a sling and sexually assault you. I thought maybe he would understand but he didn’t. I just think maybe I’m too damaged for anyone.
