Not sure

So I ovulated through the 2nd-8th and me and my man did it every the days of ovulation and other days the week before and the week after and on Wednesday or Thursday I began to feel nauseous and having real bad headaches and light cramping and a increase in appetite and sore boobs and then today still feeling those symptoms but as I took my shower this morning my areola was darker then normal so I took a pregnancy test came back negative so my question becomes can I have a negative test even tho my areola is darker and I have all my other symptoms my period is 3 days away so was I to early to test
