Is he moving too fast? 😅 (Read description)

I've been dating this guy for about 2 and a half weeks. We saw each other five hours ago and he's saying he misses me, and today he said "I love you" for the first time, then said it again a few hours later. (I didn't say it back because I don't love him yet.) We both only enter relationships if it's going to be a serious, committed relationship and if we can see ourselves with the other person in the future. But he's gone so far so soon that he's already debating whether to join the military or not, and saying that he won't if I don't want him to. Is this just normal new-relationship-excitement he's displaying or is he moving way too fast?

It really depends on the person and how long they’ve had feelings for you. For example, my now boyfriend has liked me for 7years. We started dating 9 months ago and told me he loves me when we were still pretty new. I didn’t say it back yet just because I wasn’t ready to, but its okay if you’re weirded out by it. Take it at your own speed but let him know how you feel if you want to make the relationship work.

This actually happened to me too. He told me after 2 weeks that he loved me, I told him that I wasn’t ready to say it back yet, but that I do really like him and care for him and I just need some more time. He said that he understood and he knew that his feelings came on quickly, but it doesn’t change the way he felt and that he will keep telling me he loves me, but he didn’t want me to say it back until I felt I was ready. He would tell me he loved me almost every day. A few weeks later I felt the same way and I said it back to him. His happiness in that moment was so sweet! We have been together for 4 years now and we recently got married. 
Communication is so important! Just tell him exactly how you feel and that you feel like he may be moving too quickly and you need more time to get to that point, but you do really care about him. He should understand.
