Miscarriage???

I went to the doctor today to have an ultrasound I thought I was around 7 weeks because my last period was July 25. The doctore told me that there was no baby because I was in the early stages of pregnancy. Anyway I told her I had been spotting pink blood yesterday when I clean myself and been havinf mild clams but then today it turned bright red also just when I cleaned myself. The doctor told me it could be normal but then I can also no be so it's a 50/50 so I went home and the bleeding is getting heavier that I need to use a pad also the cramps are getting a little bit more painful. So my question is should I go to the emergency room because I heard that unless you cover the whole pad in an hour to go to the E.R.
