Metformin and Miscarriage

I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts/opinions or similarities with coming off of metformin during early pregnancy and having a miscarriage. I found out I was pregnant after a year of ttc. My doctor prescribed metformin which I was taking 500mg daily. When I found out I was pregnant I asked if I should continue taking it and she said to stop. I unfortunately miscarried at 6 weeks. Do you know if there is a correlation? Should I have kept taking it? I’m not looking for a finger to point or person to blame just wondering if anyone has experienced this???
