At my school we get dress coded if bra straps show but guys can walk around wearing tank tops that are cut all the way down the side 🤔

dress codes in my opinion are sexist. my sister has no dress code at her school and her school is doing totally fine, and the students still dress really well with out anyone telling them what to wear. at my school, we get dress coded for the smallest things that don’t even matter.

I agree with them to an extent. Though more lately they’ve seemed to become a little more dramatic then when i was in school.

I got detention for wearing a tank top with straps that were 1/4 of an inch too thin, and I had to go throughout the day in a shirt 3x my size. One of the admin was literally laughing at me because I couldn’t find one my size. I felt so embarrassed and shame.
We literally have signs around campus that says, “don’t be a violator,” with pictures of girls clothing on it. The effort they put into enforcing dress code could be used to increase our less than 50% graduation rates... but go off at my shoulders I guess

I don’t support dress codes. At some schools I think they are needed though. My school a university prep which is full of nerds and geeks. (Not the but falling out of their shorts type) has a dress for comfort and safety (labs) which makes more since to me.

My little sister wore leggings to school and they called me to come pick her up because it was distracting! They’d rather her miss an entire day of school then wear leggings! Like wtf?!? And they were the athletic type that are for working out! I was so pissed I had to leave work for that. She’s in high school for Pete’s sake!!
