How does it make you feel when somebody tells you that your pregnancy will "happen one day" when coming from somebody who's had children with no issue?

I've been ttc for 4 years now I'm 23yrs old and I've been in my relationship for 6 years we are engaged and are ready for a child.

I just think it's someone trying to be kind when they don't know what to say. I wouldn't look at it any other way

I think people normally say it with good intentions, they are trying to be encouraging when they don't know what to say. But not only is annoying to hear for the millionth time, it is a kind of condescending and belittling of what it is like to struggle with infertility.  Very similar to "stop trying and it will happen" or "just adopt".

Infertility is still a taboo subject and society/culture has put moral stigmas on it. "God hasn't blessed you yet". "It is because you stressing yourself out by trying too hard." When in reality infertility effects men and women equally and there are medical problems behind infertility.

Depending on the situation I have any or all of those reactions. I wish you luck and hope you get pregnant soon.

I will literally rip a person’s head off if they say that to me. It is absolutely dismissive and rude.

It's not to be mean. Yes, its frusterating.But you don't know what those other have gone thru to have children.

I've been trying 10 years. I have saw a reproductive endocrinologist, with no results. So I made an appointment with one of what's supposed to be a top reproductive specialist and Houston Texas Monday. I flew in on Sunday saw him Monday had a ton of tests run and now I'm just sitting around waiting on results. But yet my sisters and my sister-in-law's keep popping out kids like it's the easiest thing in the world. Don't get me wrong I love my nieces and nephews with all my heart. The when is it my turn!

I don’t think getting frustrated with someone who hasn’t had issues getting pregnant is fair. Everyone is different and I think people say that because maybe they don’t know or don’t understand what it’s like having difficulty trying to conceive. It’s not a bad thing to say. You’re just taking it in a negative way.

I've found that it really is just a formality that people say when they want to be encouraging without having experienced that issue first hand. Sympathy vs. Empathy. 
It's polite so, in my experience, I just say thank you and try to change the topic and try my best to just be happy for them that they never had any problems with that. 
As frustrating and put-off as it is... 🙃😒😒😒
