Is autism caused by food...Is the mother’s diet to blame?

What do you think? Is autism caused by food?

Autism is caused by many things. I’m an autism specialist and scientific researcher, and yes, food is one thing known to lead to it. It’s pesticides as well as things known to throw off the microbiome of the mother and developing child (too much dairy and gluten), or metal toxicity (too much fish with mercury for example). 
But it’s also genetics, medications, gut inflammation, living in areas with a lot of air pollution, and other things that haven’t even been determined yet.

Until they come out with a 100% for sure study, I'm not completely buying it. My SO has three diagnosed members of his family (a nephew (his brothers son) and two little brothers (dad/second step-mother)) and one suspected to be on the spectrum (a nephew (his sisters son). I honestly think it has more to do with genetics than anything else.

I did read somewhere that certain pesticides can cause autism. It’s really rare and has to be in high doses.
There’s a woman who owns a farm where I live and both of her sons have severe autism. 
The farm does use pesticides.
I’m not sure about food itself causing autism, but chemicals makes sense.

It's completely correlative at this point, even this article says that. But it does make sense that lack of key nutrients might increase your risk.

Everything is correlations. It show that there is a relationship, but the only way to show causation is through an expiermentalmethod. You can’t show food causes autism without doing an expierment all study that shows cause and effect. However that would be extremely unethical so the only thing we know is that there is a correlation.

I'm not buying it. There are many factors that come with autism. My son's pediatrician who is also a developmental pediatrician (a doctor needed for diagnosing things like autism or making dual diagnosis) couldn't even give me a solid answer. It was a more difficult one that included many factors. I think if anything, I'll go with the theory of it being due to a gene which makes a person more likely to have autism. Other factors can express that gene like any other genes in your body, but that wouldn't be causation to me. This theory explains why dual diagnosis is so common in children or people with down syndrome. At least to me. Also I found this tidbit from WebMD.

Certain foods can worsen autism symptoms, hence why many autistic children may be put on wheat free and lactose free diets to improve behavior. But causing autism? I don't know. There needs to be more research. There are plenty of things linked to autism but they often end up debunked or unprovable.
