Convertible car seats??

Question

I was thinking of getting the Chicco convertible car seat but wondering how that works for newborns?? Most convertible car seats don’t have a handle or canopy. Can anyone who has one tell me how your newborn fit

You’d have to take your baby out of the seat any time you went anywhere. You can’t carry them inside a convertible seat.
My hospital does not allow you to take your newborn home in a convertible seat. You have to have an infant seat.

We didn’t but I will be using our Britax Advocate vs our infant bucket seat with the next! From what I’ve heard- the hospital nurse will simply see you out to your car to ensure baby fits properly. As long as they are over minimum requirements, it’s safe to use! Chicco NextFit is a great seat. They don’t come with handles because they are meant to remain in car while you babywear/use a stroller with bassinet etc

We took our baby home from the hospital in one. She fit fine. You leave the seats in the car, they can't be removed.

we use the britax clicktight convertible car seat for our son and it works for him and we had no problems being able to leave the hospital. it comes with a newborn insert.
