Daycare??

Question

How far in advance did you request an infant spot in daycare? My friend told me that people reserve spots before they are pregnant. Is this true?? I just found out I’m expecting my first last week and am now debating if I should start looking around. I just think it’s crazy being that I’m not even past that miscarriage point. Any input?

Unfortunately it is true depending on where you live. Some people told me I was late looking at 10 weeks and I was shocked. Ended up on a bunch of waiting lists, finally found a provider and learned a few weeks ago that she’s trying to close 🙄. Fortunately was able to find someone else but infant spots are few and far between. Good luck!

Around here there’s a 2 year waitlist. So yes, people need to go on before they’re pregnant.

I’d look now- I thought I sorted mine out when I was 3 months pregnant but they double booked my place 😒😒

Depends on your area. Some of the top daycares in my area have a yearlong waitlist.

Totally depends on your area. Daycare near me is cutthroat..we’ve been on several lists since I was pregnant and haven’t gotten a call yet (my son is 7 months old). A friend in the area was on a list since she was 6 months pregnant and her son JUST got in at 2!!!!

We reserved our spot in April to begin in October, so 6 months in advance.  I was around 30 weeks at the time.
