Okay so I have a cousin that is under 18 and pregnant, she wants to switch OBs because she doesn’t feel comfortable with the staff there because they have made so many mistakes and scared her half to death. She went in for bloodwork at 15 weeks and they never had her fill out any paperwork so they had NO idea how far along she was, then proceeded to call her and scare the crap out of her saying her levels weren’t doubling that they were concerned. They had no information to go off of and thought she was newly pregnant and were to careless to get her information. So needless to say she wants to switch OB offices but her mom is trying to pull the “just because you’re under 18 and I’m your mom I control which doctor you go to” crap and not going with what she feels, even though she’s the one that has to be treated and her baby cared for by these people. Not looking for “well she shouldn’t have gotten pregnant in the first place” comments, just simply asking if she has a right to which doctor she goes to or if it’s solely her moms choice??
