Who’s last name should she have?

So me and the father of my daughter are not together I do not know if he’s going to show up when she is born even though he used to say he would be but he turned into a whole new person besides that we are not married and I will definitely fight for her custody if that is the case but I hate my last name and I always loved his last name what do I do and any advice?

Depends on the type a relationship you have with her father if you guys aren’t getting along or never really see each other and he wants nothing to do with the child then maybe she should have your last name but if she’s going to be in his life then maybe she should have his last name it just all depends on the situation and stuff like that. 
For myself, personally if me and the father of my baby weren’t together and didn’t get along then she would have my last name. But if we weren’t together but did get along and he was involved with her life and stuff then I think it would be beneficial for her to have his last name but that’s just me

I follow a girl on Instagram who is legally changing her last name because she hates her own. She and baby will have a new last name together as they start their little family. 
That’s an option! I would give baby my last name. But, depending on what your relationship with the father is like. I can see giving the fathers last name being just fine!

I had the same situation... when I got pregnant he left and said he’d be there for the birth and when the time came he never showed and I was heart broken so since he decided not to be in the picture my daughter got my last (I hate my asshole dads last name) but after a while we got back together ,  we got married we filed for her to have her last name changed to her dads . The state should do it if both parents are willing for a low cost or free
