can I get something for nerves??

c section Friday and soo scared can they give me something for nerves prior to the c section?

They don’t like to and most docs won’t because you don’t want anything in your system that can interfere. Try to relax, I was so scared I cried for 3 days and it was literally nothing. So easy. Once I got in there I think adrenaline took over and I was joking with the nurses and stuff. I have a second c-sec coming in December and I’m much more relaxed now that I know what to expect.

I was shaking on the table cuz I was soo scared and my SO was in the other room waiting to come in, I was crying, shaking, and literally having an anxiety attack but a nurse came and hugged me until I got the spinal placed and once I laid back and it kicked it I immediately felt better and wasn't terrified anymore. It relaxed me and I was fine after that 😊

I was terrified and actually threw up right before they started. They said it happened a lot. Just try to remember you are in great hands and focus on seeing your baby for the first time. I have really bad health anxiety and that’s what helped me. Also I talked to them and told them what I needed. I felt like I was going to throw up right after the baby came out so I asked for oxygen and a rag on my head and it helped.

They wouldn’t give me anything until the baby was out but immediately after getting him out they put something in my IV and I felt like I was on a cloud 😂😂😂

I got something through the IV before going in because my anxiety was so bad. Don’t know the name though, sorry.

Check with the hospital what they offer for comfort in the OR. For example, mine will dim the lights, and encourages parents to make playlists to play in the room to help keep calm.
