Experience with Misoprostol? (So anxious)

Im 8wks but my sac is only measuring about 5 wks with only the beginnings of formation. We’ve waited two weeks but my body isn’t catching up so I’m taking the pills this weekend. Has anyone else took them this early and what was your experience? He is giving me ten pills but I’m hoping I don’t need them all.

I had an absolutely horrible experience with the meds and if I had to do it all over again... I’d opt for a D&C in a heartbeat. I was in horrific pain, bled so much I passed out twice, and passed clots the size of lemons. I could not sleep for days because of my pain. This continued happening for at least 4 days and also had to miss work. Not only was I in physical pain, but the emotional pain was immense. This happened over 3 years ago and still have nightmares about it. Then when I went back to my doctor they said I didn’t pass everything and had to get a D&C anyway. I was even more heartbroken.
It was a terrible experience for me and I even came on here warning others not to opt for the meds or at least be prepared to be in a lot of pain and have to miss work. I know not everyone has that same experience with the meds, but mine was awful and I wouldn’t want anyone to go through what I went through.

i had similar happen to me in aug. i was prescribed the suppository pills because i was only measuring 5 or 6weeks empty sac. she also prescribed pain meds and nausea medication. with 2 or 3hrs i had a lot of cramping and passed it but at that moment after i felt very nauseous, clammy, dizzy, and weak. having my husband there to make sure i wasnt going to pass out. i felt better about an hour after that. im glad i did the pills though because i wanted to get it over with. the only thing is i noticed the pills didnt fully disolve but the bleeding that followed later was like a heavier period but i kept feeling nauseous for several days. sorry this happened for you 😔

I heard some awful stories but opted to have misoprostal in August for my MMC at 10 weeks, baby was measuring 6w3d. 
I was given 4 pills orally and started bleeding fairly quickly, passed something within a few hours and bled fairly heavily for the rest of that day and the following then it was just like a period (passed another large clot on day 3 or 4) and spotted until the 2 week mark.
I was given ibuprofen at the hospital before I took misoprostal and then took tramadol and an anti nausea medication when I got home (about an hour later) and again before bed. My pain was actually very minimal - probably due to the drugs lol I had some sharp cramps for around 5 mins a couple of times but once I passed the clots they went straight away, the rest was just feeling crampy. 
I think people are always quick to share the most horrible of stories, I hope it goes ok for you 💕

I was super anxious taking the pills but things went fine with it for me. I was 8w5d but measuring 7w3d and did the pills inserted vaginally (4 pills, 800mg) took 600mg Ibuprofen and 4mg Zofran for nausea just in case at that time, 3-4 hrs later is when the cramping and clots really started, I took a Percocet at that time which helped take the edge off. I mostly just zoned out on the couch watching comedies on Netflix with a heating pad and dozed in between getting up to go to the bathroom and passing clots. I think emotionally I was still somewhat in shock and the emotional processing came later. I took something for pain every 3-4 hours for the first 18 hrs and at 12 hrs I took the second dose of the misoprostol by mouth. Clots and cramping occurred for about 24 hours but I bled mild to moderately for another 1.5 weeks. I’m so sorry you are having to go through this, I know everyone’s experience is different so make the decision based on what’s best for you and your situation but know that things can be ok going the medical route.

I had a horrible experience.
Put 3 in vaginally with in a hour they began to work.
Took a percocet.
Pain got so intense.
Got in a hot bath bleed all in the tub pain Is now unbearable.
Took another pain pill.
Pain extremely intense I'm now shaking and vomiting uncontrollably.
Force my self to sleep woke up fine.
Had to have a dnc 1 week later.

Thanks ladies. I wanted a D&C since I’ve been through that before and knew what to expect but the doctor is saying that the sac is small so it shouldn’t be a bad experience but I’m having a hard time believing that. 😩

I never had the pill, my doctor refused to give it to me as an option because so many women have awful experiences and it can often leave behind tissue. 
My only option was to get the D&C because my body wouldn’t miscarry on its own. However I’m very happy with my decision to have the D&C. Saved having to watch myself lose our baby. I was knocked out snd when I woke up I wasn’t pregnant anymore and I only bled lightly for a week.

I used the pills vaginally after my baby died at 9 weeks. I did not have too much pain, but I bled sooooo much. I passed out once. Ended up in the ER because it was much worse than my doctor had warned. I am still bleeding moderately 2 1/2 weeks later.  I was concerned about the risks of surgery, but I don’t think I would go that route again. I would get the D&C.

I lost my first in early August. I was 8 weeks but the baby only measured 6 and 4 days. I took 800mcg orally on a Tuesday evening. Got cramping then passed the baby Wednesday morning. Didn’t have much bleeding and pain was manageable with heating pad and round the clock ibuprofen & Tylenol. My doctor told me I could take the next dose in three days if I was still bleeding. I did take the second dose on Friday evening that week and it was worse but still only had heating pad and ibuprofen/Tylenol. I had heavy bleeding and clots (I usually have heavier periods though) for three hours and then it stopped by morning. I’m sorry you are going through this ❤️.

I took 4 pills in the morning and had nothing happen. Dr told me to take 3 more in the afternoon. (All orally). By 5 pm I was cramping. By 9 pm worst pain of my life (I took Percocet but not sure if it did anything).  but by 2 am cramping stopped. I never passed anything of substance so had an MVA the next day. Even so I don’t regret my decision to try the pills first. I needed to try that and would have regretted not trying if I had gone straight to the MVA or d&c.
