The purpose of the anatomy scan is to make sure that everything is formed as it should be so I’d say yeah, it’s pretty important.

$700 🙈 Good grief 😱 I’m from Canada so it’s all included in MSP fees (which even at the max is nothing). I think we sometimes forget just how good we have it here.

That's crazy your insurance doesn't cover it. It is important. They check to make sure all the organs are in thright location. Check the heart to see it has all the chambers. Make sure everything is growing correctly.

I’d say it’s super important. If there is some sort of abnormality you may have to plan to deliver in a specialized hospital and find specialists for after birth. For example, if baby’s heart has some sort of abnormality you’d want to deliver somewhere with a great NICU and neonatal surgeons

It's important because you can see a lot of things that aren't possible earlier. They look at if the baby is growing as it should fx.

The anatomy scan is actually the most important one. They check to make sure everything is where it should be and working and the right size etc.

Is your insurance refusing to cover the scan entirely? Or are they covering it partially? Per the ACA, they should at least be partially covering it. 
And, the scan is super important. For many pregnant women it’s the only chance you get to make sure baby is growing properly, and to flag anything that might require a deeper look or a diagnostic test.
