Pre med major?

Hey! I’m currently in college and I’m thinking about majoring in pre med. is there anyone in that major can tell me more about it? Like what do you do being in that major? Or nursing as well. I’m interested in both.

My bachelors is in health sciences and i was on a pre-professional track so i could do whatever i wanted after school.

Do not major in pre-med. I am not sure that’s an actual major. Major in something like biology, chemistry, engineering, interpretive dance, illustration, etc, and do the pre-med track. Meet with the advisors at your college to find out which classes you need to take (they’ll be basically the same for all medical schools), and what else you need to do. Find an undergraduate major that you are passionate about that you wouldn’t mind having a career in if medicine didn’t work out, and then start doing the rest of the things you need to, such as having leadership experiences, volunteering, doing research, studying for the MCAT, etc. I have talked to MANY medical school admissions committee members; they all say that your major does not factor into the decision one bit as long as you have done the required classes. It’s your GPA, MCAT score, and quality of your experiences leading up to medical school that matter.
