When do you start your third trimester ??

I’m so confused and i know this topic is very debatable!! The app tells me 26 weeks is the start, then i read and heard it starts your 7 month which is 27 weeks, but google is saying you start at 28 weeks. I want to post a picture when i hit my third trimester, but don’t want to sound stupid. Help a mama out y’all!!

When you hit 27 weeks you are starting your 28th week of pregnancy and can safely say you are in the third trimester. 
26 weeks is 6 months, so if you think 9 months of pregnancy it makes sense that 6 months would be 2/3rds. But, 40 weeks isn’t exactly 9 months, more like 9 months and 1 week. That darn extra week makes this all so confusing lol. 
If you want to get really technical, 40 weeks divided by 3 is 13 weeks 2 days and 8 hours, so 2 trimesters would be 26 weeks 4 days and 16 hours... meaning you could accurately say your are in your third trimester at 26 weeks and 5 days, but rounding up to 27 seems to be more common.
