Help I have questions 😂

Ok so I’ve been on Nuvaring for about six months. Next Monday I’m supposed to take it out for my period to come after three weeks of it being in. The thing is my boyfriend comes home on Tuesday after being gone for 10 months and well you know what’s going to happen. Usually my period doesn’t start until late Wednesday or Thursday. And I know I can leave it in for 4 weeks and then just remove my old one and put my new one in. But I guess I’d feel odd not having a period. But knowing me if I take it out it’ll start early and I don’t want to deal with that on my trip especially not with him just coming home. So has anyone done that and we’re okay? I got on birth control to have condom free sex and I wanna make sure I’m still protected. Should I get spermicide just Incase? Idkk
