Have you ever let God wreck you?

Question

I want to hear testimonies. Has God ever wrecked you? How did that change your life? What happened, what was the situation? Everything. I feel like God is trying his hardest to wreck me and let me start over, and I’m kind of scared but I think I want to let it happen. I’m hoping that if I hear some other peoples stories then I’ll feel better.

I got my dream job. I was teaching at the school I wanted, in the grade I wanted. And everything was right in the world. Then, at the end of the year I was moved to a different school. I was so bummed but thought, ok maybe this will be great. And t was! My kids were so wonderful, their test scorers were shown on a PowerPoint for the whole district because they had grown so much through the year. All of my observations went great... I was loving my new school. Then, one Friday in March I get called to the principals office. The superintendent is there. I’m not being offered tenure, and I’m either going to be fired or forced to resign before the end of the year. The reason the principal says is because: I didn’t show growth, my students didn’t learn, I never took or implemented her suggestions in the classroom and I didn’t have good behavior management skills. 
Lies. All of it. My students were the ones on the PowerPoint they showed the district, I had one student who had almost been put in an ED classroom the year before and after working with him and starting my own personal behavior management plan with him, he had only gone to the principals office twice, once from lunch. The principal even commented to me during one observation that he  was doing so much better and asked what I was doing with him. I also had taken every suggestions she had during observations and implemented them. My union rep went to bat for me but the superintendent said, “we all make mistakes but the paperwork is done.” The principal from my old school was told the same thing when he tried to tell the superintendent that he hadn’t wanted to lose me the year before and asked to give me another year at my previous school. 
So, I resigned. Finished out the year at a school where no one spoke to me because they were “afraid of backlash from the principal.” It was horrible. I was on unemployment for 6 months trying to find a job. And then, just as my unemployment ran out a friend text me and said, “my director is retiring! You have to apply.” So I did and got the job. It’s exactly where God intended me to be. I’m happier than ever. It’s a stressful job, but I love it. And I know that everything I went through He worked together for His good plan.

I grew up going to church every week, twice a week. I loved God, but as I got older I strayed away. I wound up pregnant at 16 and I completely stopped going to church. My father died suddenly when I was 17 from lung cancer and I started taking pills with my boyfriend. I became addicted and eventually that led to using heroin. I was a full blown junkie for a few years. In and out of strip clubs, I was used and abused constantly. I know my mom was praying for me the entire time. Looking back now, I shouldn't be alive. I'm lucky I don't have any diseases or even arrests on my record. I went to a methadone clinic and I've been clean for 5 years now. I specifically remember the night before my wedding two years ago my Grandmother asked me if me or my husband were religious like my Mom still is. I laughed and said no, if I decide to go back to religion, it will be on my terms. It wouldn't be because I was weak like my mom seemed to be when she found God. You know what? I think God took that as a challenge. I went through all of that, made it out and gave him no recognition. The last year and a half were horrible. I had an ectopic pregnancy after trying for 11 months. Me and my husband went to therapy and almost got divorced. About two months ago, I just fell to my knees and really prayed for the first time in a decade. I finally feel hopeful about my future. I know God has a plan for me and I will never turn back again. I think I'm losing my best friend right now because I don't want to live in sin any longer. She isn't a bad person, but my heart is changing and I'm trying to put God first. Some people don't understand that.. Thy will be done 🙏🏻❤️

Not sure if this is considered being wrecked but for the last couple years I’ve struggled with severe depression and think about committing suicide everyday. I have favor in just about everything and have had so many great opportunities but this is how I’ve felt for years.

I made some bad decisions years ago , cheated on hubby(not physically though.). It was just the whole “hubby not giving me attention, so I strayed for it elsewhere “. Anyways. Hubby found out. It was hell. Rightfully so. Almost got a divorce but as mad as my husband was, he chose to stay. Things were “Ok”. Then he physically cheated on me. Might have a baby on the side now. I also got pregnant too. It’s like God is trying to wreck me and bless me. I’ve made mistakes. But I learned from them. I hope this kid isn’t his bc then God will bring me back up from all that I’ve been wrecked. It’s been a hard road. Everyday I pray. I just want to move forward

Let him? Hmmm I’ve had some really awful experiences in my life and I only broke through to the other side because of him and my faith. Unanswered prayers are sometimes the most beautiful blessings a person could ever receive. I try to stay humble through all life experience because I know God knows better than I do.
