Am i being sensitive??

Okay so my mother in law has a tendency to say things that erk me. I’m sure many of you can relate lol
Well i sent her a bump update picture and her response was “cute! Take good care of my grand baby” her response has stuck with me all day! As if taking good care of my unborn child wasn’t at the top of my priority list. 
Am i being hormonal?? I’m kind of hoping i am and that she’s not already questioning my parenting skills.

I think she’s just saying take good care of the baby. Like she loves it already and knows you take care. I don’t think it’s insulting.

I was at a wedding yesterday seeing people for the first time since finding out the news.
I kid you not 10 separate people said 'you take care of that baby see you later'
Dont let it get to you...  I think it's just a fun way to see 'we love that little one so take good care' - just like we say 'take care' to people when we leave 
Doubt she meant it the way your hormones are thinking - probably comes from a place or love

I think this might be a hormone situation. It doesn't mean you're doing anything wrong, we really are just more sensitive. I think she was just being sweet/cute. My father in law said something similar today because we had our septic tanks backed up and he said he bleached to tub for me to protect the grandbabies (my 2 year old and my new pregnancy).

Thank you all! I guess i was being sensitive at this considering I’m already freaking out about being a new mom 🙈 
She has a past of saying outlandish things (made a “joke” about me being with another man at the mall while my husband was deployed) but maybe i should relax lol.

Well it depends . With no other context it’s a normal thing to say, but if you know her well and know she never just means something to be simple then trust your gut. The other day as my mom was leaving the house she said to my 2 year old “and now you’re going to visit you other grandma and forget all about me” she tried to say it was a joke but it clearly wasn’t because I know her, and it pissed me off too because we go see his other grandmother once a year, since they live in Mexico and we live in Canada, my mom is 2 hours away and can come see him whenever she wants and doesn’t so if he forgets about her it’s her problem.

Mine is really getting on my nerves. She’s literally buying stuff for next Christmas already! She’s sooo excited I understand that, but she’s planning what my daughter will be wearing on her first Christmas, and saying things like ‘oh the baby will be in my house all the time I can’t wait’ I’m thinking to myself ‘no she will not my baby will be with me all the time so get that idea out of your head and stop trying to take over’ 😂 mother in laws can be a pain! I know how you feel! My MIL irritates the HECK out of me. I won’t even get started, or I’ll be here all night. She really means well, but even my husband thinks she’s annoying. One thing thats stuck with me during this pregnancy is when I was about 13 weeks and she said, “wow, you’re really pushing out, there!” Umm, okay? I mean, I was only 11 months postpartum when I got pregnant again. Am I not allowed to have a little bump? For some reason that phrase just loops through my brain sometimes!

Yeah, a lot of people say this. It’s just their fun way of acknowleging they see the baby as your baby right now, even though it is not born yet. And they are saying they know you are already on the job taking care of it.

Don't feel bad I know how you feel I hate when my mother says that or anyone like if I don't know how to take care of my kids but I know she don't mean it in a rude way it my hormones but I still let it get to me she just loves you and the baby that's all LoL 😂 my mom drives me nuts I love her tho on the other hand my mother in law with 2 of my pregnancy and now I can't stand her I swear but it's just my pregnancy because there time we talk and other time I'm like why are you even in my house I feel bad at time then there time I don't because she rude as hell I remind myself everyday not to be a rude ass like I want to because she my husband mother but there time I can't hold back lol but your mother in law just means what she said because she Love's yous both enjoy the love hun 😂😜❤️ and Congratulations
