Sharp pains. Maybe dilating?

Question

I went in for my 36 week appt today and found out that im 1-2 cm dilated. I've been having sharp pains off and on in my vagina. Is that a sign I could be dilating more?! Just trying to figure all of this out since im a FTM.

I'm 37w and 3.5cm dilated. I get shooting pains too and feel like I'm carrying a ball between my legs. I'm pretty sure the baby's weight and pressure is making my body to dilate and efface more -if that makes any sense-

Sounds like lightning crotch. Dilation usually isn't something you can feel.

I'm not sure... I know that after my cervix check this week at 37 weeks, I had lots of cramps and sharp pains in the cervix and vagina for two days. Maybe it's from all the pressure and such from the check?

I'm 37 weeks and have sharp pains all the time but I'm not dialating. But that's just me.
