Help!

Hayley • Our baby boy due March 2019 💕👶🏼

First time mum and I finally feel happy with the progress of the pregnancy to start and buy baby items but I have no idea where to start or how many to buy!

What size clothes should I buy and how many?

Nappies?

There’s just so much !

Thank you in advance 💕

This most makes me feel so underprepared. I’ve only bought a couple onesies, diaper bag, and some rattles. Of course I don’t know the gender yet though.

People typically say don’t buy too many newborn clothes at all because the baby will most likely outgrow it pretty fast so since we’re due in March, I’ve bought 3 month clothing and 3-6 summer clothes because it’ll be during the summer time.

Everyone told me not to buy too much newborn stuff but my girl was born 7lbs even and was in NB clothes for almost 6 weeks. My nephew was born at 9lbs tho so you just never know. Buy at least one pack of NB diapers and then start bulking up on 0-3. I bought “summery” clothes too and didn’t realize that babies are cold all the time and she constantly had a blanket on her for the first few weeks.

I’ve bought a few things in size newborn, and a few things in 0/3 months. Enough of each to last a few weeks. Other people in my family have been buying the bigger sizes. For nappies I’ve bought size 1 but not too many packs because they’re not usually in first size nappies for long, and a few in size 2. I’ve just been picking up bits every week like nappy bags, cotton wool, soaps sponges etc. And I’ve got LOADS of bibs.

If you’re having a baby shower do a diaper raffle! That’s a great way to stock up on diapers, for clothes it depends on what time of year your baby will be born. We have a couple of outfits in NB and then a lot in 3-6 because it will be summer during that time and the weather is so unpredictable in NY.
