Does OB check cervix every week now?

Question

My OB checked my cervix last week at 36 weeks, will she check every appointment now or was it just a one time thing until labor starts?

Mine isn’t checking mine every week- mine is checking mine tomorrow because I asked to have the membrane sweep done but other than that they don’t check on my cervix until my labor starts(which I hope is soon because I’m tired 😓)

Mine starts at 36 weeks and when I asked if it was a weekly occupancy, she said he typically doesn’t unless the patient requests it. I’m 37 weeks and the nurse left a drape out for me incase I decided I wanted to be checked again. She made sure to let me know a few times it really didn’t matter and it was my choice so I didn’t feel obligated since the drape was there. I ended up getting checked again just because it wasn’t so bad last time. Ultimately, I think it’s up to the patient, you can absolutely refuse it if the doctor typically does it too!

Totally depends. Mine never checked until I was at the hospital in labor. They don’t like to introduce bacteria, so my midwife was really conservative about it, even during labor.

Depends on the OB. Mine starts at 35 weeks and checks every week. It really makes no difference. Some people can be dilated 3cm and still not give birth for a month or like with my first, I was barely at a 1 and I went into labor naturally and had a short labor. I was almost 1 for a few weeks.
