Who would you listen to?

So I see a lot of controversy on here when it comes to pregnancy and meds and just everything. If you were prescribed a medication from your OB and people on here were telling you not to take it and you're risking killing your baby! What would you do? I've had the same OB for 10 years and have always had the same medication for every pregnancy. I catch hell because I'm on certain meds that has risks but benefits. Honestly, these meds have saved me and helped me to function daily.

You listen to your doctor. Period. The internet is full of opinions and your doctor studied for this. Listen to your doctor.

You and your doctor know more about your situation than anyone on the internet.
A lot of stuff is not recommended for pregnant women, but sometimes the risk is so low and the benefit so high that you do it anyway.
And it's fine as long as you've been told there can be risks with a type of medication.

If your Dr prescribed it then they have most likely outweighed the pros and cons of taking it. I took Zoloft while pregnant with my first, talking with my Dr the benifets outweighed the risk for me. I also took Zofran with both if my pregnancies, again the benifets outweighed the risk. Both if my daughters were born perfectly healthy. I would listen to my Dr before I listen to people on the internet. Yes it's nice to get others options but I still do what's best for me.

Do your own research.  My doctors and the internet said something was safe.  I'm not ok with the risks i found in my own research.  If you trust your dr and the risk benefit analysis,  do what you have to do.  Some of us need medication.

I research on my own. I never go by what strangers say on the internet, and even if a doctor has been practicing for a long time it doesn’t mean they are up to date on current studies or recommendations. I will, of course, listen and consider what they say but I like to find the most current information from medical journals and reputable sources.

I probably wouldn't be telling people especially not on these sites/apps because I dont see how it's their business. But when my OB tells me to take something I have a discussion with him about any risks and I do my own research. Then I make an informed decision that I'm comfortable with.

Listen to your doctor people on here have their own opinion and no medical degree.

There are certain meds that doctors prescribe that have not been tested on pregnant women...if people are warning you about those id be cautious in taking the meds. Ask if there are other options or don’t take them unless absolutely necessary.
