Can I request a csection after so many hours of labor?

My friend and I have the same OB. She was in painful active labor for 44 hours and it put the baby in distress and they had to perform CPR on the baby. I don't want to labor longer than 24-26 hours because I'm afraid.

I was in labor for more than 24 hours after my water broke. I leaked fluid for 11 days and when it broke broke I didn't have labor start for a good 6 hours. They do a good job of monitoring the baby and for infection. My son was completely ok and so was I. Birth doesn't always go as we plan. It's honestly a miracle and these stories that go poorly scare people (understandably so) but they aren't the norm. My son was born about 33 hours after my water was gushing consistently.

They won’t let you past 24 hrs after your water breaks due to infection.

I think it all depends on dr. My sil said she labored 18 hrs after being induced with no progress they gave her the option of taking a break to eat lunch and restart meds or to have a csection. She chose csection
