From the beginning. Flatulence is a normal bodily function. If i have to use the bathroom,  i will go and do it there, however,  if i domt go out of my way to do so. 
But im also very down to earth when it comes to stuff like this. 
If im living with a person,  i dont hide being a human, because its " embarrassing ". I am human. I fart, i poop,  i pee and i belch. Im not gonna supress flatulence and make my guts hurt. Im not gonna hold my pee, out of fear of pee making noise when it hits the bowl. Im not gonna hold my poo, out of fear of sticking the bathroom. 
Im an adult, that realizes that humans have needs. 
That and my husband and i are open about everything. We dont close doors when we pee or poo. We dont hide ourselves when we fart. 
A honest" sorry babe" will suffice.
We also have sex on my period.  Put a towel on the bed, baby wipes next to the bed and wr are all set.
We do anal as well. 
And lastly, i dont think either one of us , has any embarrassment left in us, after me pooping on the delivery table, tearing my vagina, popping a 7 lbs 1 oz baby out of it and then delivering the placenta in all its bloody glory. By the time u are done going through all that, flatulence seems like such a trivial thing to worry about.
