Skin to skin after c-section?

Question

The hospital I will be delivering at is very pro breastfeeding. They said they do skin to skin immediately after which I'm super excited about. This will be my 4th and have never had this opportunity before. How does it work though? I can't seem to picture how it all pans out. Were you guys allowed skin to skin right after?

I wasn’t allowed skin to skin right away but mine was an emergency and I was barely able to hold my eyes open let alone hold a baby.

I was allowed skin to skin with my son almost immediately. After they checked him out and wiped him up we did skin to skin while the doctor was finishing my c section.

It wasn’t right after, but probably 30 mins later. My husband got to do skin to skin first, which I think was so special.

I didn’t get to because they had to put me under general anesthesia as soon as they pulled my daughter out. I didn’t get to hold her for almost 2 hours 😢

My hospital was the same. They put baby next to you after he comes out. I was blessed that my hospital keeps baby with mom the whole time. Even when you have a CS. They did all the check ups, shots, bath, everything in my room. Baby stayed with me the entire time even right after the surgery when I was recovering. I got skin to skin as soon as we got to the room and I got to BF right away. I had a wonderful birth experience ♥️

My husband did skin to skin as they stitched me up.  As soon as they got me to recovery room then I got to.  I was still numb so nothing was bothering me and it was great quiet time!

The hospital I had my c section at allowed skin to skin right after they checked out the baby. They later him on my chest and the pediatrician held him there. He immediately inched his way to my boob to try and feed, it was amazing. After that they gave him to his Dad to hold while they closed me up

I was able to hold him right after the checked him and close me up(took them a good 20mins I think). I had him in me as they took me to the recuperating room. Was there for a good hour, breastfeeding him. Had her on me as they took us to our room and was with me the whole time we were there.

My husband got to do skin to skin right away and then I got to once I was moved into recovery. So about 30 minutes after she was born.
