How and when did you wean off the swaddle?

My baby is 4 months and doesn’t care for his swaddle but struggles to sleep without it because he rubs his eyes and upsets himself. I don’t want to hinder his development but I want him to be able to sleep

You can start by  leaving his arms out of the swaddle, using a sleep sack.. or putting it on him to fall asleep and take it  off when he's knocked out

I went through the same thing. We transitioned into a sleep sack over a two week period. We started with 1 arm out and then both arms. Took about 2 weeks b/c there were nights where he woke up and needed to be swaddled before he got completely used to it

It’s not safe to swaddle past 8 weeks or when they show signs of rolling; whichever comes first.

You could do a sleep sack. His arms will still be out but it will give him the comfort of swaddling still

I kept my daughter in the swaddle way longer than I should have. I finally got her out of it by slowly swaddling less and less tightly each night until she was finally free.

You’re supposed to stop once they can roll over because it becomes a suffocation risk. I don’t have advice about weaning, I’m just going to stop using it. Maybe try sleep sacks?
