Robitussin while pregnant

I have all week with an itchy throat and cough.. I went for my appointment yesterday and told my OB. She said Robitussin was safe.. I know they wouldn't prescribe or tell me to take something that will harm my baby but I'm still scared to take it.. I'll be 17 weeks tomorrow. Has anyone taken this??
