Any other May 2017 babies in toddler beds?

Question

He’s trying to escape the crib, so we are trying to switch him to a toddler bed. He is NOT a fan of this idea and is currently fussing instead of napping. It’s a convertible crib, so it’s set up like a tiny daybed. How did your transition go? Is it too soon?

My baby turned 1 year and we converted his bed to a toddler bed and he loved it because he cpuld get out and up when he wanted. Never have an issue.

I’m so afraid for the day we have to switch. I do not see it going well. I just see my son getting out of bed all the time. If you really want him in a toddler bed though my guess almost like anything else is to just be consistent and eventually he will learn.

We are far from there thank goodness! My daughter is so petite, it’ll be ages before she can escape. I’m not ready for that!!

Haven’t switched my littlest yet but the transition was pretty smooth for my oldest. We took the front off of her crib as well but added a mesh rail so she wouldn’t fall out. We also started putting a baby gate across her bedroom doorway so she could get out and roam without us knowing. She actually preferred both of these things and would remind us if we forgot about the gate. I think it helped her feel more secure.

Well my daughter would not sleep in her crib ever. So it's new and going to her little baby brother... She slept and still takes naps in her playard but she's in a twin size bed with a gaurd rail... She loves it... I didn't see the point of a toddler bed and I wasn't converting her crib it looks weird to me lol but maybe her transition was easy because her sisters have a twin and the other a full size so she wanted the same

We aren’t transitioning anytime soon. My girl was trying to climb out of her crub to but then we lowered the mattress as low as it can go and took out her breathable
Bumpers (she was using that go step on) and now with nothing to give her a boost she is no where able to climb out yet. My oldest was over 2 before we moved her. My youngest would deff not stay in a toddler bed at this point so we will just stick with the crib for now.

I think that's up to you.
We didn't realize my son was ready (partly b/c we weren't 100% ready, as we were preparing for the arrival of his sister), but once we converted his crib to what we call his 'big boy bed,' the behavior regarding bed did a 180.
He looooooved it and still wouldn't climb out to come get us at first.
We're reaching a point where we're wondering if it's time to transition our daughter out of her crib, and convert our son's toddler bed to a twin.
