Safe? Frowned upon? Help!
Before getting pregnant, I heard so many things about what was safe and what wasn't for a newly pregnant woman. No sushi, no shrimp, no caffeine, no hottubs, etc. Now that I'm reading a little more into it, I'm learning that I had some misinformation in the past! Shrimps okay? No hottubs OR hot baths? 200mg limit of caffeine? No soft cheeses? After what point in pregnancy does all of this start affecting the baby? I'm only 4 weeks and haven't made it to a doctor quite yet, but I'm so paranoid about eating or doing something I shouldn't be, but I also don't want to be avoiding food that is okay in a few weeks once food aversions start! Of course I'm going to continue on doing my own research, but I'd love to hear what you've heard from your doctors, family, friends, & own research! What did you discover was safe or unsafe during pregnancy? What advice on safe eating & behavior would you give a newly & first time pregnant mother?
