Should I switch my daughter’s daycare?

Laine

I have a two year old daughter that has been in daycare since she was 6 months old. Our first daycare was absolutely horrible and we switched her to her current daycare at 11 months old. My husband and I both love her current daycare, and I know she really enjoys it too. She’s stimulated, she has friends there, and I know they treat her well. The problem is, her daycare is about 30 minutes away from our house but right next to my work. I just got a new job that I’ll be starting next month that is much closer to our house. Once I’m no longer at this job, driving her to this daycare will be very out of the way for my husband and myself. Also, I’m currently pregnant so now we’re having to think about when my daughter is old enough to go to school, we cannot drive the new baby to the daycare far away and drive my daughter to school close by. If we were to find a daycare close by our house that we liked, should we switch her? She didn’t struggle with the change at 11 months old, but now she’s over a year older and much more aware. I don’t want to have her struggle or scare her with a new place. Does anyone have experience with switching daycares for older kids?
