Freshly ejaculated sperm cannot fertilize the egg it needs time to undergo its changes which is why they say to have sex before ovulation (which is normally your highest chance of conceiving like the day before . I’m not saying that having sex the day of ovulation isn’t going to work it’s just that it’s best If the sperm are there already before the egg gets released especially since the egg is only viable for about 24hrs

Pretty sure sperm only last around 5 days so 6 might be pushing it..
