Anyone have non hormonal iud?

I was thinking about getting it since I just had my baby and don’t want another for a few years. Has anyone got the non hormonal/copper iud? How is it? Did it make your period worse or better? Should I get it? It’s either the iud or shots and I thought iud would be better maybe. Please tell me everything if you’ve had it

I bled every day for a month. Some days weren’t too bad but other says I just poured. Before getting it my mom and grandma had told me they had the same issue; I just needed to try it for myself. I had it exactly for a month. I stopped bleeding as soon as it was removed and I haven’t had a period since 🤷🏼‍♀️ 
I guess it’s just what you prefer. 
It made me feel uncomfortable knowing something was inside of me, plus I really want another baby

Had an IUD put in 17 years ago, I had cramping and bleeding so bad after 3 months I demanded to take it out, little did I know (until 16 years later when I wanted another baby) that it caused damage to my tubes and now we are struggling with IVF treatments. I know I was in the lower statistics of women who have this issue but I will always tell women to never get an IUD and take the chance of ending up like me.

I had it for 5 years and loved it. Had no affect on my periods and didnt mess me up like hormonal bc did.

I had it and it was a disaster. Everyone is different though. My periods were terrible and I bled more than I didn’t whether my period was 2 weeks long or I had spotting in between. I have PCOS and was not aware of that before going on it because I was on the patch before that and it helped with cysts and keep periods consistent. If while you were in no birth control, you have normal periods and hormone levels you should be fine, but it will make them worse than they normally are. I had mine for about a year, maybe more. I just switched from mirena to the nuva ring which is similar to the patch, but internal.
