Anyone Strep B positive?

If you’ve had Strep B in a pregnancy, would you mind sharing what the protocol was for labor and what your experience with the IV medicine was?

Or, if you’ve talked to your practitioner but not given birth yet, what is the plan?

I saw on my obgyn patient portal that I tested positive, but my appt isn’t until Friday. I’m so upset. I know there are a lot worse things. But I hate the IV and discussed just having the hep lock. I’m not getting an epidural. Now, I’m aware that I will need to be hooked up to the IV, limiting mobility. I also have read that you have to go to the hospital right away when you’re in labor, but not sure if that’s only if your water breaks. Our midwives advise staying home to labor as long as possible. I’m also scared that my baby will have any exposure and risk at all, even though I know that’s what the antibiotics are for 😥

Anyone have to get the IV and be in the hospital right away but still able to be as mobile as they wanted and deliver without interventions?
