Preterm labour

Right now I’m 34 weeks and baby measures small, they’ve told me that the baby’s weight is below average so my baby is weighing 1.7 kgs (3.7 lbs)

And the growth is very slow, The baby measures 2 weeks behind my due date. My due date is 26th nov but baby measures 10th December. So my doctor has told me that they are gonna do weekly monitoring on the baby to see the growth but if there isn’t enough growth by 37 weeks, I’ll have to deliver through induction.

Keep in mind that my baby is growing but at a slow rate.

I’ve also been told to get “DEXAMETHASONE” a type of injection given because preterm baby’s lungs don’t fully mature, but only 1mg right now.

But isn’t 37 weeks considered full term?

I do trust my doctor but I’m just having second thoughts. I know my baby weighs low but average weight that should be is a little above 2 kgs(4.4 lbs) and my baby weighs just a little less than that. So is it really necessary to go through all my doctor is telling me to??
