Toddlers and soothers... when did you stop?

We have a 2 yr old who is attached to his soother. He always has been. We’ve finally gotten it down to just bedtime and it’s been maybe 1.5-2 months of that. But we also have a 8 month old who has a soother, 2 yr old is always trying to take. I say no that it Ts so he gives it back. So I just cold turkey take his away or is there another way that works?

We kept the paci way longer than we should have. She even named it bobby. She was 2.5yo and I made her throw it away one day. I told her it was dirty and any time she would ask, I would remind her that she was the one who threw it away and after about a day and a half, she stopped asking.

My baby is about 14 months and we are taking hers here within the month. I have been told by a lot of people that poking a hole in the tip is really effective cause they start to realize it’s useless by themselves rather than you taking it from them.

my lil boy will b 2 next month. he was attached pretty badly to his. i just stopped it all together. took them all away. the 1st 3 nights were hard not gna lie. he woke about 3 or 4 times the 1st night then each night it gt less. now were 4 weeks with bo dummy and ge doesnt ask at all for it. best thing i done just completly stopping it

Cut one at a time. Tell them it’s broke, let them have one and a couple nights later that one “broke” too. Repeat until they are all broken. This doesn’t mean you may not have a couple of difficult nights, but with them all gone there is not other choice than to be without it to sleep.
