you should only come out if it’s safe and you know you’ll be accepted. in my opinion there’s no need or rush to come out. I mean straight people don’t have to come out so why do we?!

My brother didn’t come out until he was 25 and it went over amazingly. He came home one day and was like “I’ve been dating this woman for the last year, she’s coming over tonight to meet you guys, she’s transgender” and that was it. I think if he had said that he was demi when he was younger that my parents wouldn’t have understood and wouldn’t have taken him seriously, but this way no one really had anything negative to say because it was just like “oh look he’s in love”

Only come out if you know that it is safe, and if you are ready. Really consider if you think she would except you. I hope that things work out for you, and you are able to be unapologetically yourself 🏳️‍🌈❤️

Honestly I think you don’t need to explain your sexuality unless you come home with a partner that is the same gender as you and they are like omg are you gay!? Then you can explain but honestly I wouldn’t ever feel like I should have to explain to my mother my sexuality. But if you do feel like you should than waiting till your older would be a good choice in my opinion:) and I’m not saying this in a mean way so please do not read this wrong(: just giving my thoughts
