Desperate for opinions! Bring a book instead of a card - baby shower!

I was thinking of doing “bring a book instead of a card” for my baby shower.

I’ve had these cards printed but I’m not sure I should send them now - preparing for a baby is becoming expensive so we would appreciate any gifts to help - so I’d rather not send it if it means people buy a book instead of gifts. I need your guys’ opinions.
