How old is to old to brestfeed your child ?

At what age is a child concidered to old to brestfeed? whats your opinion?

Wow so many people picked after a year lol? Even the world health organization recommends till age of 2. Why stop at 1? Keep giving your baby the antibodies.

However long the baby and the mom want. Humans lose their milk teeth around 5-6. Chimpanzees nurse until their babies are 5 years old.

I'm a firm believer in allowing your child to have breastmilk for as long as possible due to the obvious benefits, but I feel once they can associate your breast to the milk i would stop allowing them to latch, if you can survive past the teeth anyways. I would continue to pump and put in a bottle or sippy cup for as long as I felt was appropriate. I would say 4 years old is when I stop giving them breastmilk. 
But at the end of the day it's whatever is comfortable for you and how you feel about it.

For ME , just my own feeling like going into 3.5-4 I am breastfeeding my 10mo old and don't want to stop at exactly 12mo I would go up to 24mo

When they’re old enough to verbally ask for it. At that age they have already developed a positive attachment to mom, and that step is complete. The next step is to build social independence or risk an unhealthy attachment. Typically after 2ish they don’t need the breast milk or the vitamins in it. They’re growing bodies need foods loaded with complex proteins and carbs and natural sugars. 
Breastmilk is excellent for a young baby as they need the high fat and vitamins for brain matter development. But at some stage breastfeeding becomes more of an attachment issue for mom that they put into their baby. 
To each their own but attachment issues can be a HUGE setback for young children.
