Do you think the bible is just full of fantasy stories?

Question

I've never really thought of it as a "story" the older I get the more people I meet and everyone has a different opinion but when I speak of the bible from time to time a friend will say I believe in God but not those "stories"

I just gave this some thought.
If you take things literally in some cases it absolutely will not make sense. 
An example is Revelation. If you take that literally it sounds crazy. But if you take a step back and analyze everything it makes sense. 
Jesus also gave certain parables to teach lessons. For instance the one of the kind Samaritan. Or the good and faithful slave. However all of these have basis and they all have reason behind it.

God would not support a book of fairy tales and if you go to TV.JW.org there are some videos on the bible that go in depth on if you can trust the bible.

Parables are stories that lead you to proper conclusions. Essentially Jesus main method of teaching to help people grasp more difficult teachings.

So here's the deal, the Bible has been helpful in measuring other documents written in the same time period. Correlating events, seeing if multiple sources confirm people places or things.

The text that Christians read was translated to a myriad of different lanuages, had things added to it by over zealous religious officials.

If you wanted to read an accurate version,you'd have to learn Aramaic or Hebrew, or Greek or all 3.

The bible, both old and new testimates are fun of fables designed to help people learn right from wrong, or how to handle situations in life that are difficult. Its up to you and your denomination to interpret each of these fables.

I follow the Old Norse gods, I believe the contemporary name is Astru. That being said Stephen McNallen DOES NOT speak for me.

I pray to Thor, Eir, Frigga, Loki and Freya most often. I was a devout Lutherans for 25 years, this year I could no longer ignore the Gods calling to me. So I answered, I've never felt better.

So for me they're a bunch of silly stories designed to help Christians.

I think they are gods stories.  Now if they are all historical accounts or not....Jesus talked in parables all the time.  He always explained  big concepts with a story.  I think it is possible some of those stories we're meant as parables.  But I do not know.
