Cons of being a JR ??

Hi everyone I just found out I’m having a boy & my husband is set on the baby being named after him & his dad so the baby would be the 3rd ! Can you guys please give me some cons of having the same name because I’m really trying to talk him out of it !! Thank you in advance !!

My husband is a junior and he literally had stuff on his credit report that was his dads and it wasn’t good stuff so yeah I’d say that was a con

I’ve always been against Jrs or the same first name. I think it’s so egotistical & unoriginal.. literally. Why do you see yourself as so high & mighty that you will name another human being IN HONOR OF YOU?! & not only this, why can’t your son grow up being his own person versus a junior version of his dad? 😑 If he’s worried about passing down a legacy, a name is not a valuable asset in my opinion.

My boy is the 5th I think there's a lot of pros and there's a lot of cons. I don't think he has his own identity to be honest with you if I could do it all over again I would have never named him after his father.... I would advise against it

My brother is a 3rd and we just have nicknames for them. Richard/Rick/Ricky.

In the UK here and if the son and father have the same name we don’t tend to give them Jr at the end (that being said recently at work we had a father and son coming into the business and the son was a Jr and we were like that’s really American 😂) I digress sorry there is no real pros or cons you have to go with what you want 😃.  
My cousin and his dad (my uncle) are both called John and we differentiate by calling my uncle big John and my cousin little John.  This worked fine until ‘little John’ grew up to be a 6ft 4in rugby player and ‘big John’ is a lot shorter however they are still called by the ‘big and little’ John names hahaha!

Con is definitely the credit report thing.  Also...I’ve wanted to name one of our future sons after my fiancé until I realized I’d be saying my son’s name during sex 😂 wayyyy too weird.
But also not giving your son the chance to have his own name.  Can’t really think of any pros.  Why not just give your son his dad’s name as his middle name?

My husband is a jr and he enjoys it and really wanted to have our son be a 3rd. I personally HATE it. Both my husband and his dad want to be called Robert neither will go by a nick name so it gets so confusing when your trying to talk about one of them or to one of them. The only nickname they allow is big Robert and lil Robert 😑 I also hate filling out paper work for him bc i have no idea where to put the jr and I have to be careful at the bank when I’m putting money in his account that it goes in the right Roberts account. It’s just annoying all around to me.
