Is 12 weeks too long to wait?

Hi! I made my first appointment the day we found out we were pregnant and the doctor i picked was super booked. She won’t be seeing me till 12 weeks! We had a miscarriage last year around this time. Is that too long to wait? Should i find a different doctor?

Most doctors won’t see you until 8-12 weeks anyway. You could always pay a private ultrasound place and go for a scan

My doctor saw me immediately for a blood test (in the US) because I had a miscarriage. I would get a new one

With my first, I didn’t see the doctor until 12 weeks, and apparently that was the norm in our area. I’m high risk now, so I was seen the day my period was due.

It's not too long medically speaking but emotionally if you have some options, I would explore them. Personally I wouldnt choose a new doctor but I might get a private ultrasound at 8 weeks just to put my mind at ease.

You might try a different dr, but most don’t see you until 8-10 weeks so 12 isn’t too far off. If it’s a doctor you really like and trust you might just wait because those are hard to come by.
