Something I see often at my vet internship is shock and choke collars and I’ve always been against them as I think there are better ways to train dogs, but I do understand not every dog is as easy to train as others. We always cringe when dogs with them come in and if they are hospitalized, we take them off and will put a normal collar on them when we take them out and when they are in our care.

I was wondering what your thoughts were on them as they either get a lot of heat from those against them, or a lot of praise from those using them. Do you think they are cruel? Or is it the only way for some owners?
