When should you travel?

My husband and I have no kids and have secure jobs. We have a mortgage and 2 cars we are paying for plus a couple of credit cards but we are living comfortably. I believe we should travel now that we are young and have no kids. He wants to pay all debt then travel once we are older....-_- I'm thinking older= limited abilities. Just want to see what you all think.

Why not both? We love to travel, with and without our children. My mother in law is in her mid-60’s and still loves to travel. This year she went to Peru, New York and a few other places. As a parent, we don’t get to travel often, but we’re farmers so we can only manage to get away for one trip a year anyway 🤷🏼‍♀️

Try to work on paying the debt first, it will be a huge release. And when you travel pay for it right away, don’t use credit cards, and if you become pregnant there will be not issues at all when it comes to finances ( kids can be really expensive)... I will recommend you to listen to the Dave Ramsey show! It’s excellent. There’s nothing more satisfying that be out of the debt and be able to do anything without to worry about money and I think that’s what your husband might be afraid of! 😁

Both! But I definitely wouldn’t “save” traveling for when you’re older. Go ahead and plan some things for now/next couple of years; there is so much to do !

My husband and I, who also have a mortgage, multiple vehicles, toys (boats, ect), travel internationally and domestically multiple times a year, as well as several yearly trips within driving distance. We make it as much of a priority as we do savings, bills, ect. It’s important to us, so we make room for it always 
We have 4 categories 
1. Travel while young/kidless. This is our ‘adventurous travel’ for things like opposite side of the world travel, things like going to nightclubs, cliff jumping, zip lining, ect. Places that aren’t suitable for children or older age where health, abilities, ect are a concern. Our goal is to go to as many of these places as we can before we settle in and have kids 
2. Domestic family travel. Places where you take your kids to and are in the United States (where we live) places like Disneyland, Hershey Pennsylvania, ect. These are easier and more child friendly 
3. Old age travel. Places that are international or domestic but are still suitable for older age. Places like Ireland, Rome, ect that are more sightseeing vs actual activity/interaction  
4. Places we’ll visit multiple times in our life, regardless of age because we enjoy them so much
