Can they forget a parent

My daughter has been staying with my mother due to some false accusations she is 7 months old but she might be staying with her until January she has been there since the end of September and recently I noticed if she hears my mom talking she will turn to her and try to reach for her and now when she also starts crying I can no longer calm her down she will scream and cry for my mother to get her and calm her and ladies I feel like now she’s no longer attached to me anymore
