Am I bad mom for this?

Question

I have a 2 1/2 year old. She’s an absolute nightmare. Does it make me a bad mom that lately when she’s throwing a temper tantrum or when she’s in time out and screaming her head off that I put headphones in with music so I can’t hear her? I can still see her so she’s safe, I just can’t hear her. I do it because I feel myself losing my patience with her lately and I don’t want to snap and do something.

Nope...you are doing the right thing.  You are in the toddler version of purple crying.  It will get better eventually, but if headphones save your sanity...keep it up.

I have to just ignore my toddler when she's throwing a tantrum. You do what you gotta do, mama. Turn that music up and enjoy it. She'll get mad that you're not feeding her tantrum by engaging in her antics but if she's anything like mine, she'll get mad and go play in her room. 
Dont ever feel like you're a bad mom! We're all just trying to survive this thing called parenting! 😉

My son is 2 1/2 and he is sooo nasty majority of the time! He is into hitting and throwing stuff at us right now and spitting. I lose my shit on a DAILY basis, so you aren't alone. I cannot wait until this phase ends

My ped told me to put her in her room until she stops.

No. But I just try to distract mine. Eventually we find something that distracts her. Like looking out a hole in a fence lol. It may take a while. But i don’t feel right just ignoring her as if she’s not there. However that’s usually with her crying like she’s genuinely upset or in pain, not a tantrum over not getting something she wants

Nope, I do the same, not only does it help you keep your sanity but it teaches them that when they're acting that way they aren't getting your attention

Definitely not. Kids throw tantrums and they can get worse if you give them the attention they want. I work with kids her age and when they throw tantrums I lay them on the floor and walk away.
