Married but a single parent?

Question

Do any of you other SAHM feel like a single parent? Yes my husband works 8 hours a day but so do I. He comes home and doesn't help with anything. The baby can be crying while I'm cooking dinner he comes in and starts talking about his day but doesn't offer to help with either. I just feel like I'm alone in parenting with him. I have to force him to take the baby so I can shower or do anything while he's home. If the baby starts even fussing a little he brings the baby to me saying he wants me and walks away. 😔

You need to STOP asking and start handing him the baby when you want to take a shower. When it's time to cook dinner you need to tell him I need you to watch the baby. Thats the only way I started getting anywhere was unfortunately to stop being so nice and start being bossy.

I had to have some serious discussions with my husband in order for him to stop doing this. Have you two sat down and talked about how you feel and how your job as a SAHM stops when he gets home and then the two of you are both equally parents and house caretakers?

As I was reading this I thought it was myself posting, my boyfriend is the exact same way. He works and he comes home to play his ps4 I could be crying because I’m stressed out and his response would be “ask for help then” but when I do “I’m tired, you don’t do anything all day” I’ve had a few discussions with him about helping me but have they got us anywhere no, just into arguments :/ hope things get better for you momma we got this!

My husband has always helped me. But I needed more and to give me breaks. We talked about it alot and now he's so good at it 😁 talk to him again

My husband leaves at 4:30 in the morning and doesn’t get home until around 4:30-5:30 in the evening depending on his overtime for that day. He works Monday-Friday and 2 Saturday’s out of the month. Durning the day it is so hard, we moved away for work so I have no family or friends to help me. But as soon as my husband gets home he is so focused on our son and doesn’t hesitate to help. On the weekend days that he doesn’t work he will take our son into the living room when he wakes up in the morning so I can get a couple hours extra of sleep. It takes two, and working does not excuse anyone from being a parent when they are home.

I feel you I really do. I’ve experienced it myself. Unfortunately you can beg but it isn’t going to change until he wants to. Be the best mom you can be, and let him do what he wants. His actions will be seen by your child and then he/she can make there opinions about him. That’s all you can do. If you nag to much he won’t want to do it at all. I know how you feel and you are very strong being a single parent with a significant other that doesn’t assume any responsibility. All you can do is do what you feel is best for your child. This is literally my life. Except my husband works a ton of hours. I have a hard time being mad at him since he supports our family. The only thing that would bother me is him not spending time with the kids. Otherwise I don’t really complain about doing all of the housework

My husband's been pretty willing to help with the baby. I used to have to straight up ask him to take her but he's getting to the point where he will just take her from me when he sees I'm having problems or if I look stressed out. It took a lot of communicating

Only when he’s traveling. I’m a SAHM so I do a lot of the kid work, but he does all the money making so I’m not complaining! But when he’s home, he helps as much as I need.

I told my significant other I aint going to do that by the time the baby is born. If he wants me to be a SAHM I dont mind Ill find a job to work from home but other than that, Im not gonna have this thing of him coming home and doing nothing. 
FATHERS RESPONCIBILITY IS NOT ONLY AT WORK. Make that clear.
