So this is the situation. My mom and her boyfriend have been dating for like 8 years. She’s extremely close to her best friend and her family and both my mom and her bf go over to their house usually once a week and we always celebrate holidays together. A lady in my moms best friends family, who my mom was also extremely close with, has just passed away due to cancer. Her funeral and service is tomorrow and my mom has been struggling with it. My moms boyfriend has decided to stay home tomorrow and watch football rather then going to this funeral. He also told my mom to tell everyone he was working. Is this wrong of him or does he have the right to stayed uninvolved without judgement? I just think considering how close our families are and seeing how much my mom is struggling that he would want to be there but i guess not
